Through generous donations in memory of Clifford Rich Nyquist, the Community Church of New Boston has established a Clifford R. Nyquist Memorial Trust.  The purpose of this Trust is to promote youth leadership, academic and athletic achievement, and community service.  By awarding regular grants, we intend to invest in the most important resources for the future of our community - our young people.

Clifford Nyquist was a beloved son, brother and friend who died tragically at the age of 15 in an accident on November 7, 2004, coincidentally the same day as the dedication of the new annex of the Community Church of New Boston. Although intelligent, athletic, ambitious, tenacious, competitive and accomplished, he was selfless, and had the special ability to befriend, encourage and support all who came into his life. Cliff was baptized and confirmed in the Community Church and had a deep fondness for it and for those who worshiped here. Cliff would be honored, yet humbled to know that this community youth leadership program has been made possible by the generosity of those who loved and admired him. His life, love, and friendship can never be replaced but his spirit and encouragement will live in the church and community through those who will lead through the grants of this program named for him, and dedicated to his wonderful memory.

Eligibility:  Clifford R. Nyquist Leadership Grants are available to youth or youth groups between the ages of ten (10) to eighteen (18), who are current residents of New Boston, NH or active members/friends of the Community Church of New Boston.

Award Values:  Clifford R. Nyquist Leadership Grants for 2007 will range in value, with a maximum award of $250. Requests for larger amounts will be considered in special cases.  Specific award values for any applicant will be at the discretion of the Award Selection Committee.

Applying for an Award:  Applicants seeking a Leadership Grant must complete a grant application form as outlined in Attachment 1.  Grant applications may be obtained from the Pastor, any session member, or from the Community Church of New Boston web site.  Applications must be completed by the youth applying for the grant and be their own work.  Completed applications should be sent to the attention of the Clifford R. Nyquist Youth Leadership Awards Selection Committee - Community Church of New Boston, 2 Meetinghouse Hill Road, New Boston, NH 03070.

Selection Criteria for Awards:  The selection committee will favor applicants with clearly defined and achievable projects, objectives or opportunities that develop community service, leadership, academic and/or athletic skills.  In addition, the selection committee will consider:
