Palm Sunday
SERMON: Entering The Lion's Den
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 21:1-11
RESPONSIVE READING
Leader: How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who bring
good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion:
Everyone: Your God reigns!
Leader: God comes in the power of love and justice; therefore, let us wait with
eagerness and worship with joy.
Everyone: God comes to judge the world with righteousness, the people with
truth. Let the heavens be glad; let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar and all that
fills it. Shout for joy, all the earth!
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH:
Blessed are you, Holy God, for in Jesus Christ, you came to rule in our lives, not as a king, but as a humble servant, riding on a donkey. Enter into our hearts this day with your glory, that we may greet you with shouts of praise; through Christ, our Sovereign and Savior.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
ANTHEMS AND HYMNS
Anthem: The Messiah Has Come
Offertory: He Never Said A Mumblin' Word--Soloist, Dick Jardine
