This is communion sunday.  we invite you to join us virtually

SERMON:  A New Beginning
SCRIPTURE:  Luke 4:16-30

RESPONSIVE READING—ISAIAH 40:28-31
Leader:  Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
Everyone: He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Leader: Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
Everyone: But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
Leader:  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Adapted from the United Church of Canada)
We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God who has created and is creating; who has come to us in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new; who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church, to celebrate God’s presence; to live with respect in creation; to love and serve others; to seek justice and resist evil; to proclaim Jesus’ message of hope, inclusion, and grace. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen
