SERMON: The Cost
SCRIPTURE: Revelation 21:1-4
RESPONSIVE READING—ISAIAH 2:1-4
Leader: In days to come the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established as the highest of the mountains.
Everyone: Many peoples shall come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob,
Leader: That He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths.”
Everyone: For out of Zion shall go forth instruction, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Leader: H shall judge between the nations, and shall arbitrate for many peoples;
Everyone: They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and the spears into pruning hooks;
Leader: Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—CONFESSION OF 1967
To be reconciled to God is to be sent into the world as God’s reconciling community. We are entrusted with God’s message of healing enmities that separate people from God and from each other. Christ has called us to this mission and given us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
