SERMON: A True Role Model
SCRIPTURE: Luke 15:11-32
RESONSIVE READING—Psalm 93
Leader: The Lord is king, He is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed, He is girded with strength. He has established the world; it shall never be moved.
Everyone: Your throne is established from of old, You are from everlasting.
Leader: The floods have lifted up, O Lord; the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring.
Everyone: More majestic than the thunders of mighty waters, more majestic than the waves of the sea, majestic on high is the Lord
Leader: Your decrees are very sure; holiness befits Your house, O Lord forevermore.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—I John 4:16-21
For we have known and believe the love Go has for us. God is love and those who abide in love, abide in God, and God abides in them. Love has been perfected in this: that we may have boldness on the day of judgement, because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love. We love because He first loved us. Those who say “I love God” and hate their brothers or sisters are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. The commandment we have from Him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
