SERMON: A James Bond Story
SCRIPTURE: Joshua 2:1-16
RESPONSIVE READING—PSALM 37 1-4
Leader: Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;
Everyone: For like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
Leader: Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Everyone: Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—CONFESSION OF 1967
The members of the church are emissaries of peace and seek the good of all in cooperation with powers and authorities in politics, culture, and economics. But they have to fight against pretensions and injustices when the same powers endanger human welfare. Their strength is in their confidence that God’s purpose rather than human schemes will finally prevail.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
