SERMON: Business Vs. People
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 25;31-48
UNISON READING—Amos 5:21--24
I hate and despise your festivals, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the offerings of well-being of your fatted animals I will not look upon. Take away from me the noise of your songs; I will not listen to the melody of your harps. But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—CONFESSION OF BELHAR
God has entrusted the church with the message of reconciliation in and through Jesus Christ. The church is therefore called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. The church is called blessed because it is a peacemaker. The church is witness both by word and by deed to the new heaven and the new earth in which righteousness dwells.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
