SERMON: Wee Keep Repeating the Story
SCRIPTURE: Genesis 4:1-16
RESPONSIVE READING—REVELATION 21:1-4
Leader: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared, and the sea vanished.
Everyone: And I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared and ready, like a bride dressed to meet her husband.
Leader: I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne: “Now God’s house is with people. He shall live with Him and they shall His people. God Himself will be with them and He will be their God.
Everyone. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—CONFESSION OF 1967
The church, in its own life, is called to practice the forgiveness of enemies and to commend to the nations as practical politics the search for cooperation and peace. This search requires that the nations pursue fresh and responsible relations across every line of conflict, even at risk to national security to reduce areas of strife and to broaden international understanding.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
ANTHEMS AND HYMNS
Anthem: United In Christ
