SERMON: Really Hard
SCRIPTURE:  Matthew 5:43-48

REPONSIVE READING—PSALM 8
Leader:  O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is Your name in all the earth.  You have set Your glory above the heavens.
Everyone:  Out of the mouths of babes and infants You have founded a bulwark because of Your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger.
Leader:  When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars that You have established;
Everyone:  What are human beings that You are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
Leader:  Yet You have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor.
Everyone:  You have given them dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under their feet,
Leader:  All sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
Everyone:  the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas
Leader:  O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—ROMANS 8
If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave him up for us all, will He not also give us all things with Him?  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril or sword?  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor
depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen
